Why 'This Is Acting'?
As a songwriter, Sia doesn't write only for herself — successful examples of her work for other artists are Rihanna's 'Diamonds' and Beyoncé's 'Pretty Hurts'. In her latest release, Sia shows us a compilation of mostly songs that were rejected by many fellow popstars, including Adele and Rihanna. Because the lyrical content doesn't reflect her own experiences in life, making it look more like playing another character, she decided to call it 'This Is Acting'.
The Content:
Sia's latest release contains so many good songs that it's difficult to choose only some of them to call my personal favourites. In her lyrics, Sia talks about a diversity of themes: self-empowerment, love, regret and even religion. I'd recommend you to listen to the whole thing - it's worth every second.
Now On Repeat:
Cheap Thrills, Reaper, Confetti, Move Your Body (Alan Walker Remix), Midnight Decisions, Jesus Wept and The Greatest (Solo Version).
